Paps for Poc

Paps for POC is a program dedicated to increasing cervical cancer screening rates in underserved populations of Maricopa county in Arizona. CCAP Across The Map has partnered with the American Medical Women’s Association (AMWA) at Mayo Clinic in Phoenix to conduct a joint study to determine the barriers to receiving Pap smears within the region of Maricopa county. Using geo-targeted, animated video ads on Facebook in areas highly populated with uninsured people of color (POC), we are spreading information about the importance of receiving regular Pap smears as well as information about getting referrals to federally qualified health centers (FQHCs) that accept patients without insurance. This program is meant to increase the rates of cervical cancer screening in uninsured POC and after results from the initial study, will be scaled to reach other areas highly populated with uninsured people.
