Jillian Leaver is a spring 2021 graduate from Arizona State University, Barrett, the Honors College (B.S. in Molecules Biosciences & Biotechnology (MBB), B.S. in Neuroscience). As CCAP Across The Map’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO), she primarily oversees and manages the organization’s long-term goals and initiatives. Outside of her CCAP Across The Map duties, Jillian also works as one of the co-lead medical scribes in an emergency department in Phoenix, Arizona, studies breast cancer in a radiology lab at Mayo Clinic, studies how supreme court decisions affect genetic testing methods for an inherited risk of cancer with the Sulston Project, serves as a young professional board member with the nonprofit Project CURE, and weight lifts. She additionally has experience working in a molecular genetics lab at the Translational Genomics Research Institute (TGen), working in a neurodegenerative research lab studying Parkinson’s at Arizona State University, working with SolarSPELL to help develop a women’s health database that is uploaded on solar-powered computers for under-resourced countries, serving as a clinical intern at the Mayo Clinic hospital in Phoenix, Arizona, and competing on the Sun Devil Mock Trial team at ASU. Jillian plans on obtaining her M.D., and going on to combine law and medicine to address global healthcare issues.
Hunter Ackerley is a spring 2021 graduate from the Honors College at the University of Arizona (B.S. in Psychological Science, Minor in Music). As CCAP Across The Map’s Chief Operating Officer (COO), she primarily oversees and manages the organization’s day-to-day operations. Outside of her CCAP Across The Map responsibilities, Hunter is developing her undergraduate honors thesis about Emotionally-Focused Mentoring into a publication and working full-time as a Community Counselor at Intermountain Centers for Human Development. Hunter plans on obtaining her Doctorate in Psychology, and seeks to work at the intersection between Marriage & Family Therapy, and healthcare equity with her own therapy practice to address global health disparities in mental healthcare.

Maya Morken is a fourth-year honors student at Arizona State University (B.S. Economics, Civic Economic Thought & Leadership minor, International Business Certificate). As the Chief Business Development Officer for CCAP Across The Map, she primarily oversees internal development and logistics. She is also the President of the ASU chapter of CCAP Across The Map, called CCAP @ ASU, where she works to further the organizational mission in the Arizona area. Outside of her CCAP Across The Map responsibilities, Maya is a captain and competing member on the Sun Devil Mock Trial team at Arizona State University, has worked as a consultant with the nonprofit Arizona Microcredit Initiative, and is a member in the business fraternity Alpha Kappa Psi. She additionally has experience working as a residential engagement leader and facilitating an introduction to business course at Arizona State University. Maya is working toward pursuing a J.D. program so she can work as a trial advocate in the future.
Katherine Hostal is a third-year honors student at Arizona State University (B.S. Finance, B.A. Business Law, minor in Criminology/Criminal Justice). As the Demographic Research Specialist for CCAP Across The Map, she primarily researches marketing strategies and crafts marketing campaigns for domestic programs hosted by CCAP Across The Map. Outside of her CCAP Across The Map responsibilities, Katherine is a returning competitor and Vice President of Sun Devil Mock Trial team at Arizona State University. When she is not working on campus, she spends time off campus working at different legal related entities. In the past, she has worked as a Victim’s Advocate Intern, as well as a PACS (Providing Access to Court Services) AmeriCorps service member and as a Community Outreach and Education Intern for the Attorney General’s Office. Katherine intends to pursue a J.D. and work as a legal professional in the public sector.
Claudine Inocencio is a first-year honors student at Arizona State University (B.S. Computer Science). As CCAP Across The Map’s Digital Presence Specialist, she primarily oversees web-based projects, such as creating and maintaining the website. Outside of her CCAP Across The Map responsibilities, Claudine spends her time engaging in organizations that aid the lives of others. She has completed projects such as Bridge to Ridge, MRHS Mentor Program, and The Open Table, which all mainly focus on guiding middle schoolers through their transition to high school. A notable mention is that she has been the founder for both Bridge to Ridge and The Open Table. Along with those, Claudine has participated in Best Buddies – an organization that establishes opportunities for those with disabilities – for three years, serving as Ambassador, Arizona Liaison and Vice President. She has held titles such as Vice President/Co-Founder and President of Cultural Awareness Club, which celebrates people from all backgrounds. And lastly, she has been the Treasurer of Society of Female Scholars which empowers educated women by hosting conferences with expert speakers. Throughout her college journey, she plans to create digital apps that align with the missions of the organizations listed above. Claudine aims to pursue an MBA that intersects her passions for art, business, and technology.

Brenden Little is a third-year student at the University of Arizona (B.A. Philosophy, Politics, Economics, and Law, B.S. Urban and Regional Development). As a member of the Treasury Committee for CCAP Across The Map he works to manage annual and quarterly fundraisers, and as a member of the Initiatives Committee for CCAP Across The Map he primarily works on our mentorship program in Arizona. Outside of his CCAP Across The Map responsibilities, Brenden is a competing member on the University of Arizona Mock Trial team. During the summer he additionally volunteers as a camp counselor at MDA camp in Timbre Pointe, Illinois. Brenden hopes to use his skills to develop sustainable, equitable cities around the world.
Matthew Gue is a third-year honors student at Arizona State University (B.S. Biological Sciences with a concentration in Biomedical Sciences). As a member of the Initiatives Committee for CCAP Across The Map he works on demographic research, data gathering and analysis, and educational material generation. Outside of his CCAP Across The Map responsibilities, Matthew is conducting his Barrett Honors Thesis on the epidemiology of SARS-CoV-2 and its relationship to public policy, conducting research at Honor Health Hospital on preventative medicine and public health, and working for Arizona State University’s COVID-19 Case Investigating Team. He is also the Tempe representative for the Arizona State University’s Hearing Board and the Sun Devil Fitness Center Advisory Board. He has further been volunteering at Banner Boswell in their Patient Transport, Same-Day Surgery, and Post-Anesthesia Care Units for the last five years and also shadowed at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa, Texas. Matthew plans on pursuing M.D. to become a gastroenterologist.
Erin Baughman is a senior at University of Louisville (B.S. Organizational Healthcare Leadership). As a member of the Initiatives Committee for CCAP Across The Map she works on demographic research, data gathering and analysis, and educational material generation. She began her career in healthcare as a dental assistant and has experience in both the corporate and academic healthcare settings. Outside of her CCAP Across The Map responsibilities, Erin works full time in a medical office with multiple providers and is working towards beginning the MHA (Masters in Health Administration) program at University of Louisville. After a personal battle with cervical cancer, she is determined to facilitate cervical health education and promote early detection internationally. Erin is pursuing a career in Healthcare Operations and Administration.
Katie McNeil is a spring 2020 University of Florida Alum (B.A. Biology). As a member of the Initiatives Committee for CCAP Across The Map she conducts regional needs assessments, develops educational materials, and completes general research. Outside of her CCAP Across The Map responsibilities, Katie is a full time Medical Scribe in the Emergency Department. She additionally has experience as a first responder working as a lifeguard for over four years, as well as experience at a skilled nursing facility while working as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). Katie is pursuing a career in the medical field as a Physician’s Assistant and aspires to work in Critical Care.
Michael McPhie is a graduate with a master’s degree in political science with an emphasis in healthcare policy. As a member of the Initiatives Committee with CCAP Across The Map, he primarily works on health policy research for educational campaigns. Outside of Michael’s CCAP Across The Map responsibilities he has experience working in non-profit organizations, congressional and mayoral offices, and has published research papers in various academic journals. He has also worked in hospitals and specialty clinics and collaborated with both healthcare providers and patients in delivering the best quality care. Michael is working towards a full-time career in the nonprofit sector.
Pavlina Tollumi is a spring 2021 graduate from Arizona State University (B.S. Biological Sciences, specialty Genetics, Cell, and Developmental Biology). As a member of the Initiatives Committee for CCAP Across The Map, she primarily works on researching and managing domestic programs and as a member of the Social Media Committee for CCAP Across The Map she primarily manages our TikTok platform to spread educational videos. Outside of her CCAP Across The Map responsibilities, Pavlina is a member of the HOPEgenesis organization, which is a Greek non-profit that aspires to reverse the trend of declining birth rates in Greece. She additionally has past experience in interning in an OB/GYN and fertility clinic. Pavlina is pursuing a career in Genetic Counseling with a concentration in prenatal development.
Akshitha Veeramachaneni is a high school senior at the Alliance Academy for Innovation in Georgia. As a member of the Social Media Committee, she primarily works on making educational graphics and outreach on various social media platforms. Outside of her CCAP Across The Map responsibilities, Akshitha is working towards becoming a licensed EMR and plans to pursue a career in medical technology.
Sebastian Esquerra is a second-year honors student at Arizona State University (B.S. Neurobiology, Physiology, and Behavior). As an intern for CCAP Across The Map, he primarily focuses on research and creating educational material for our Mexico initiatives. Outside of his CCAP Across The Map responsibilities, Sebastian is a pianist and has earned the rank of Eagle Scout. Sebastian plans to get his M.D. and pursue neurosurgery.
Fabián Agustín Monita Martínez graduated with a degree in Psychology from the University of Valle de México and a diploma in cognitive behavioral psychotherapy for adults from the Jalisco Institute of Cognitive Behavioral Psychotherapy (IJPCC). Additionally, he performed his social service at the San Juan de Dios Mental Health Hospital in the psychology department, performing individual and group interventions with patients with psychiatric illnesses. As CCAP Across The Map’s lead satellite team member in Mexico, he primarily works on projects in the Jalisco area with an emphasis in sexual education for cervical cancer prevention and psychological aid to cervical cancer patients. Outside of his CCAP Across The Map responsibilities, Fabián has worked various volunteer expeditions as an emergency brigade psychologist with Tía Foundation of Arizona and was one of the original psychologists in the psychology department of the San Juan Grande Hostel.
